In yoga, the moon represents the mind--it is always changing, just like the mind.
The Vedas say, “once the moon is made steady, the sun can be made to rise.”
In other words, when the mind is calm, we reflect the light of the sun, of divine light.
Tantra involves shadow work—looking at our “dark sides” as part of the journey to wholeness. Once we own and claim the shadow parts of us, our self-recognition transforms the shadow since everything light touches turns into light.
All the stones in the mala are highly protective, particularly onyx, smoky quartz, hematite, and rutilated quartz. The moonstone and snowflake obsidian are calming, soothing, nourishing, and balancing. Together, they provide strength, healing, and rejuvenation as we weather what life brings in the path toward wholeness and light.
Although mala are meant to be used for chanting, if wearing it resonates with you, then that’s what you should do!

Copper, the Ayurvedic darling, is commonly worn to provide copper, zinc, and iron to strengthen the body's immunity and calm inflammation. Ayurvedic practitioners swear by its ability to reduce headaches, joint pain, respiratory issues, and skin ailments.
Black onyx provides strength for those experiencing grief, sorrow, or depression. It's known to "pull" negativity from your body and energy and release it to be neutralized. Onyx is a stone that both grounds the wearer and opens up psychic awareness and abilities.
Together, they allow you to use your energy to move forward instead of fighting for the clear space to do so.
In yoga, the moon represents the mind because it is always changing, just like the mind.
Patanjali's yoga sutras say that the purpose of yoga is to still the mind. When we calm the mind, light within us is allowed to shine.
A big part of our evolution calls for "shadow work"—facing, integrating, and having compassion for our “dark sides”--as a necessary part of the journey to wholeness.
